Rather than building the majority to luxury. So I might need to build some neighborhoods as in betweens that stay modest. They had to earn their way up the chain of status. Immigrants only came with inexpensive housing. ![]() One issue that I am going to have to think about is that for housing, even though I had 2k in space. With a wage of 75 by the end and taxes reduced to 8% around the 15k mark. With an economy that was generating 5-15k yearly profits. I ended up hitting 15k in population using less space than before. The taxes basically were the primary money earner unless Ra was kind enough to encourage the More and less expensive edicts for trading. I was able to support myself much better as the game progressed through taxes and exports. But by building a solid economy and high tier housing. Which kinda averaged out the population growth, instead of having high peaks and low valleys when it came to age. I just grew my population and industries at a slower pace than before. That is an interesting method I might try. but if done right you will have a fresh young population to add to the work force if you do this make sure you prioritise the health workforce and city architecture, fire dp and what not (can't exactly remember what category those work forces were called) otherwise your city won't recover. i usually fix this by deleting all my water sources and forcing everyone out of the city and then rebuild my water sources. ![]() also if alot of decades have passed by then your population will age, grow too old to work and eventually die. haven't played in ages but through my experience pretty sure i always lost a lot of population bcos i wasn't paying enough attention to wages and taxes. its a really old game though and things tend to sometimes get buggy with the higher population cities.
